The UPSC has released the list of candidates who have qualified the Civil Services (Main) Examination 2025 for the Personality Test. This marks the beginning of the final and most crucial stage of the process: the Interview.
Along with the result, UPSC has issued important instructions regarding DAF updates, document verification and the release of Interview schedules. Every qualified candidate must follow these instructions strictly to avoid cancellation of candidature.
Following are the instructions, based on the official UPSC mains 2025 result notice
1. Mandatory 15-Day UPSC DAF Update Window
UPSC has opened a 15-day window for all qualified candidates to update and submit required details online. This window is available from 13 November 2025 to 27 November 2025 (6 PM).
During this period, candidates must log in to their UPSC account and update:
- Educational qualification status (appearing/appeared),
- Upload proof of passing the required qualifying exam,
- Update correspondence/permanent address,
- Higher educational qualifications,
- Achievements,
- Employment/service experience,
- Previous service allocation (if any),
- Marital status,
- PwBD details (if applicable),
- Parental information,
- Debarment history,
- Earlier exam details,
- Attempt information,
- OBC/EWS annexure (if applicable),
- Socio-economic questionnaire.
UPSC has clearly stated that failure to update and upload required documents will result in cancellation of candidature and no e-Summon Letter will be issued.
Even if you have no new information to update, you must still log in, verify, and submit, otherwise the e-Summon Letter will not be generated.
2. Downloading the UPSC e-Summon Letter
- The e-Summon Letter for the interview will be uploaded after the DAF update window closes.
- It can be downloaded from:
No physical summon letter will be issued. If you are unable to download it, you must immediately contact UPSC via phone, fax or email.
3. UPSC Interview Dates & Venue
UPSC will release the Interview Schedule separately. All interviews will be held at: Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi – 110069 The schedule will be available on the UPSC website in due course. UPSC generally does not entertain requests to change the allocated date and time of the Personality Test.
4. Service & Cadre Preference
As per the Examination Rules:
- Candidates must indicate service preferences for the participating services.
- Those opting for IAS/IPS will be asked to submit cadre preferences.
- Once preferences are submitted, they cannot be changed except during the 15-day update window.
On successful submission of the requisite field(s)/information in OAF (Online Application Form), a unique reference number will be generated and furnished to the candidates through email/SMS at their registered email ID/mobile for their acknowledgment.
For every candidate who has qualified, this is the most crucial administrative phase. Missing deadlines or failing to upload documents can cancel months of effort. Treat this 15-day window with the seriousness it demands.
